We’re seeing a flurry of smartphones debut in the sub Rs 10,000 price band, Lava’s O2 is the newest device to land in this ultra-competitive price segment. Positioned as an Indian smartphone brand, Lava’s O2 comes with 8GB RAM, a premium glass finish and a 6.5-inch HD+ punch hole display, with a 90Hz refresh rate. Here are the highlights:
Three colour ways: One of the better looking smartphones at this price point with a glass finish. The device offers a convenient side-mounted fingerprint reader and comes in a choice of three colours - Majestic Purple, Imperial Green and Royal Gold. Lava keeps the heft at 200 gm; the device is 8.7mm thick.
Under the hood: The device is powered by a UNISOC T616 Octa-core Processor. It comes with 8GB of RAM plus 8GB of expandable RAM. There’s 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 512GB.
Camera specs: There a 50MP dual AI rear camera. You get quite a few camera features including Beauty, HDR, Night mode, Slow Motion, Filters and Timelapse. There’s also an 8MP selfie shooter in the mix.
HD+ display: You get a 6.5-inch (720 x 1600 pixels) HD+ punch hole display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The display features a pixel density of 269 PPI. The large display is backed by a bottom-firing speaker.
Dependable battery: The Lava O2 is packed with a large, 5000 mAh battery under the hood. Lava claims a 468-minute playback time on YouTube or 38 hours of 4G talk time. There’s a 18W Type-C charger in the box.
The Lava O2 is powered by Android 13 (with a stock Android experience) and comes with two years of security updates.
The Lava O2 (8GB / 128GB) comes in comes in Majestic Purple, Imperial Green and Royal Gold. It comes at an introductory price of Rs 7,999.
