The Apple iPhone 16 series is still a few months away (expected to arrive in September), but according to the latest leaks, there’s a big camera improvement seem to be in the works for the cameras.
Apple iPhone 16 Pro leaked camera details
According to “yeux1122” on the Korean blog Naver, Apple is reportedly testing a camera lens with new coating technology named atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the iPhone 16 Pro models. This new coating will improve the photography quality, which could eliminate lens flare or ghosting artefacts in photos or videos.
This has been one of the Achilles heels of the previous iPhones, especially when you click photos, that many users report lens flaring issues. ALD technology allows for precise control over the thickness and composition of materials, by providing anti-reflective coating on the camera lens. Even with the much-improved iPhone 15 Pro cameras, lens flaring still persists.
This type of coating can help reduce imagery artefacts such as lens flare, which appears as streaks of light, and results in clicked images having a lot of light artifact issues. But, this coating will also ensure that the camera lens is protected from harmful UV rays or other types of environmental damage.
Other rumoured camera upgrades expected in the Apple iPhone 16 Pro could include an improved telephoto camera lens with up to 5x optical zoom, a feature currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max only. Further, we may see a new 48Mp camera on the upcoming Apple iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.
Apple typically launches its next iPhones in mid-September, and as we approach its anticipated launch, more leaks and rumours are likely to surface about all the upcoming Apple iPhone 16 smartphones.
