Alibaba, the Chinese technology and e-commerce giant, said they have updated their AI model Tongyi Qianwen, and has released a new set of AI models that are industry specific.
Tongyi Qianwen 2.0 is the company's largest language model to date, and has "hundreds of billions of" parameters, which places it among the most powerful AI models in the world.

The company's cloud computing arm, Alibaba Cloud, made the announcement and also launched new AI models specializing in entertainment, finance, healthcare and legal.
Together, these models offer dedicated tools for generating images, computer code, financial data and searching for legal documents. The company said that half of its line-up of AI models could now run on Alibaba's cloud infrastructure.

The company said their model sharing platform ModelScope, now houses more than 2,300 different models and has 2.7 million developers who contribute to the project.
The company announced the GenAI service platform that lets companies build their own specific AI products using their own data to train it.
