WD launches MyBook Live, WD2go apps for major platforms

Western Digital today introduced their WD2go and WD2go Pro mobile apps for their My Book Live personal cloud storage solution. The My Book Live drive connects to the home network creating shared storage, which can then be accessed by WD 2go apps for the iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Android devices, anywhere in the world. This allows users to keep media and files safe at home on their own physical drive and yet access them over the Internet. The WD2go is a free app whereas the Pro version retails for US $2.99. The My Book Live Personal is available for Rs. 7,999 for 1TB, Rs.9,999 for 2TB and Rs.11,499 for 3TB.

The WD 2go Pro app includes several advanced features, including:

WD’s My Book Live features a built-in media server that streams music, photos and movies to any DLNA-certified multimedia device such as a WD TV, Blu-ray player, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or a connected TV.
