Bihar polls dependent on backward class votes

The “maha gathbandhan” or grand alliance that Nitish Kumar's JD(U) has stitched up with two other parties, namely Lalu Prasad’s RJD and Congress to block BJP in Bihar is likely to draw 65 percent of muslim votes, says Aditi Phadnis, Political Editor of Business Standard. Of the three, Congress has very little work on the ground as it is contesting only 40 Assembly seats.
