Elections likely after 6 months: Shekhar Gupta

The fragile political environment looked even more brittle after Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav made election and Narendra Modi was inducted in the parliamentary board of Bhartiya Janata Party. Speaking of the developments, Shekhar Gupta, editor-in-chief, Indian Express reiterated that withdrawing support from UPA will not be fruitful for the SP although the BJP has clearly moved into the election mode.

Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Gupta said there is all possibility of an election after six months. He, however, said the current Budget session will see the passage of insurance and pension bills.
