Welcoming Tesla’s formal entry into India, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the company has made the perfect choice by arriving in Maharashtra.

“I believe Tesla has come to the right state, and the right city,” he said at the company's grand launch event in India. “We expect Tesla to establish its complete electric vehicle ecosystem here, from manufacturing to supply chains.”

"Tesla is going to change the entire electric mobility market in India. Maharashtra has a good infra for charging, best incentives to make in India. We wish to see R&D and manufacturing by Tesla from India, and I am sure the company will think about that at some point of time. Consider us as partners in your journey." Fadnavis added.

He further added that Maharashtra remains a top destination for EV investments, backed by progressive policies and robust infrastructure. “Our state has always been at the forefront of clean mobility, and we offer dynamic, business-friendly policies to support EV manufacturing.”

Signaling mass acceptance, the Maharashtra Chief Minister spoke both in Marathi and Hindi. "Tesla is setting up 4 super charging stations, 32 other charging stations in Mumbai," Fadnavis said in Marathi. Talking to the media after the launch, The Maharashtra CM further added that "Charging infrastructure is being prepared on a large scale. I happy that Tesla chose Mumbai. Maharashtra has become leader in the field of electric mobility." "I am confident that the people of Mumbai and the people of India are going to love Tesla," Fadnavis also said.
