Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to roll out a vision document for India in December, according to a report published by the Mint. This document, which is being designed by the government's apex public policy think tank NITI Aayog, will be a blueprint for the country's medium- and long-term developmental goals.
The vision document, or the blueprint will reportedly elaborately mark and discuss the key points to resolving the country's primary concerns over the next few decades, the report states. In addition, it will discuss the National Democratic Alliance’s re-election pitch agenda ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
The team is currently in the process of analysing the development trajectory of key sectors and growth bottlenecks to formulate a collaborative approach with states’ involvement in the spirit of Team India, according to sources cited in the Mint report.
Besides this, the vision document is also anticipated to help the government further boost its administrative structure, and offer better services to citizens. This roadmap to success will primarily focus on the economic and human development of the nation, catapulting its position on the global map in a race to become a $5 trillion economy by 2025, as committed by PM Modi.

The vision paper is aimed at achieving the developed country status for India by 2047, with emphasis on inclusive and environment-friendly growth, sunrise industries, and sustained infrastructure building, along with development in the rural economy and boost in farmers' incomes, it is learnt from sources cited in the report.
Under the Narendra Modi-led government, India has been witness to empowering and revolutionary changes across all sectors, right from the booming space exploration space to ramping up sports infrastructure. The prime minister's vision paper will also lay emphasis on women empowerment and the rising participation of Indian women in various sectors, including aviation, policy-making, and science. It is also learnt that the blueprint will also focus on the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises, and the support that can be extended to them.
PM Modi, with his visionary Digital India schemes, has already revolutionised the country's digital infrastructure. Apart from this, the Centre's relentless efforts to make India the next semiconductor hub globally are already bearing fruits, given the attraction the country is enjoying from global behemoths expressing interest in shifting a huge portion of the supply-chain cycle to India.
Moreover, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on October 10, raised its 2023-24 GDP growth forecast for India, for the second time in three months, inching closer to the 6.5 percent projected by Indian policymakers. The latest development comes as a reaffirmation at a crucial time when the nation is witnessing unprecedented development across all sectors. Also, with just a few months left for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, a positive growth outlook from the IMF will only boost the ruling NDA's winning prospects.
As per the multilateral agency's latest World Economic Outlook report, released on October 10, India's GDP is expected to grow by 6.3 percent in 2023, marking an expansion of 20 basis points from its July forecast.
