Petrol, diesel prices see biggest dip in 10 days

Fuel prices vary from state to state depending on local sales tax or VAT

Prices of petrol and diesel witnessed its steepest dip in the last 10 days on Friday. The declining trend in fuel prices, that started on May 30 with one paise, continued on the day with a fall of 21 paise per litre for petrol and 15 paise for diesel, in New Delhi.

In the updated price notification issued by Indian Oil Corporation, petrol was to be sold at Rs 77.42 per litre from Rs 77.63 of Thursday after the price cut in the national capital, while diesel reached Rs 68.58 per litre, down from Rs 68.73 of the previous day.

Price of petrol continues to be the highest in Mumbai. The fuel costs Rs 85.24 per litre in the Maharashtra capital, 21 paise lower than Rs 85.45 per litre of Thursday. Diesel came down to Rs 73.02 per litre from Rs 73.17 per litre.
