Diesel Price In India

Whenever petrol and diesel prices in India spike, rising crude oil prices is blamed. However, petrol and diesel prices depend not only on the 15-day rolling average price of global refined products but also the US dollar exchange rate. Experts believe bringing fuel under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime could be one way of keeping the prices in check. At present, the price of petrol and diesel includes excise duty charged by the Centre and value-added tax by the states.
