Noida Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the planned tractor march by various farmers' unions, including the Samyukta Kisan Morcha and Bharatiya Kisan Union, scheduled for today. The march is led by farmers affiliated with Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) Tikait.
According to the advisory, all routes leading towards Delhi from Gautam Buddh Nagar will be heavily barricaded, and strict vehicle checks will be implemented. Movement of all types of goods vehicles will be prohibited on specific routes, including the Yamuna Expressway to Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to Delhi, and Sirsa to Pari Chowk to Surajpur.
Commuters have been advised to utilise Metro services as much as possible to avoid inconvenience due to traffic disruptions. Alternative routes have been suggested for those travelling to Delhi from various border points, including the Chilla border, Kalindi border, and Yamuna Expressway.
Additionally, the Delhi Police and Gautam Buddha Nagar Police have deployed pickets and checkpoints to maintain law and order, which may further affect vehicular movement. The traffic advisory warns of heightened traffic on routes from Gautam Buddha Nagar to the Delhi border and Yamuna Expressway, including specific toll plazas and junctions.
Emergency vehicles will be diverted via safe routes, and commuters are urged to plan their journeys accordingly.
The advisory comes amid ongoing protests by farmers across the country demanding various reforms, including a legal guarantee for minimum support price (MSP) for crops and farm debt waiver.
