Delhi exit poll results: BJP kamal to bloom in Delhi after 27 years, sweep AAP out of power, predict pollsters

If the predictions hold true, it will be a huge prestige boost for BJP which was looking to overcome the towering shadow of Kejriwal and AAP in the national capital - the symbolic seat of power in the country. A win in Delhi will also bolster the saffron party's momentum run, completing a triumphant trifecta following victories in Haryana and Maharashtra last year.

The predictions of a "double engine ki sarkar" in Delhi is also likely to put an end to the decade-long administrative tussle in the national capital between the ruling AAP and the bureaucrats.

Exit poll predictions

Among the exit polls, Peoples Pulse predicted the highest seat share for BJP in the range of 51-60.

Matrize predicted that BJP will win 35-40 seats, JVC 39-45, Chanakya Strategies 39-44, P-Marq 39-49, People's Insight 40-44 and Poll Diary 42-50.

Only WeePreside and Zeenia struck a discordant note and predicted an AAP victory in Delhi. According to WeePreside, AAP will bag 46-52 seats in the national capital while BJP will secure 18-23 constituencies. Zeenia has forecast a tight race with advantage AAP, with a prediction of 33-38 seats for Kejriwal's party.

Most exit polls have predicted 0-1 seats for Congress in Delhi, with only Chanakaya Strategies giving 2-3 seats to the grand old party.

In the 2020 Delhi elections, AAP secured a landslide victory with 62 out of 70 seats while BJP bagged just eight. The Kejriwal-led party also secured a thumping 53.57% vote share in Delhi while BJP cornered 38.51% of the votes.

The Congress drew a blank in the last two assembly elections.

Triangular clash

In the 2025 elections, AAP is eyeing a record third consecutive term relying on its governance record, welfare schemes and the popularity of Arvind Kejriwal.

BJP gave a tough fight to AAP in the elections as it seeks to sustain its winning momentum after victories in Haryana and Maharashtra.

The saffron party, out of power in Delhi for over 25 years, spared no effort in trying to unseat Kejriwal. It launched an all-out campaign to challenge AAP’s claims of honesty, portraying Kejriwal as a corrupt leader.

The Congress, which ruled Delhi for 15 years until 2013, is also looking to stage a much-needed comeback after failing to win a single seat in the last two elections.

The campaigning, which officially ended at 6 pm on Monday, saw a high-voltage battle between the three main contenders.

The discourse was marked by aggressive name-calling, AI-generated spoofs, and debates over issues such as the "Sheesh Mahal" controversy, Yamuna's water quality, and allegations of voter list tampering.

While governance, law and order, and women's welfare were key themes, promises of freebies dominated the pre-poll narrative.

The counting of votes will take place on February 8.
