The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday began the re-evaluation of answer sheets for the Class 10th and 12th examinations.
The board, which started the process once again after a Delhi High Court judgment in favor of re-evaluation of answer scripts, has set a July 7 deadline to apply for the scrutiny of marks for particular question (s) in the theory paper.
The court's directive came after hearing several pleas by students, who gave the board exams this year, against the CBSE's decision to scrap its re-evaluation policy.
One thing to note is that those students only those students who have requested for a photocopy of the evaluated answer book will be eligible to apply for the scrutiny of marks, as per a statement by the CBSE.
The ambit of the evaluation has now been extended to 12 subjects - English core, English elective (CBSE), English elective (NCERT), Hindi core, Hindi elective, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, business studies, economics and accountancy.
How to apply for the Re-evaluation for Class 10th and Class 12th
# The first pre-requisite to apply for re-evaluation is to register to receive a copy of their answer booklet.
# The maximum bar of questions that can be included for re-evaluations is 10.
# You can login to the system from here.
# The deadline for applying for the same is July 7
Format
# CBSE has given out the following format for applying for the re-evaluation, which has to be sent out with the application fees in the form of a demand draft

# There is an application fee of Rs 100 per question and the demand draft has to reach the local CBSE office
# "In class 10, in the event of receiving representations relating to non awarding of marks to particular question(s) as per marking scheme and/or unevaluated portion of the answer book, the same shall be dealt as per procedure followed for verification of grades," the CBSE said in a notice
Rules and Regulations for Re-evaluation by CBSE
#Only those students who have applied for the getting the photocopy of the evaluated answer sheet shall be eligible to apply for the re-evaluation of marks
#Request is to be entertained for only 10 questions maximum at a rate of Rs 100 per question
#Request for marks re-evaluation (only for theory papers ) shall be received offline only through Demand Draft in favour of "Secretary, CBSE" drawn with respect to the place where regional office is located or through NEFT from 1 July till 7 July
# Bank Account details
# Request for scrutiny shall only be accepted once
# A fresh marks statement shall be issued to each candidate after surrendering the old marks statement
# The status of the scrutiny of marks shall be uloaded on the web, and a letter sent by speed post, and the money refunded in case of upward revision of marks for those questions only
# There will not be any refund in case of decrease/no change in marks
# Once re-evaluation is done, no other queries about marks shall be entertained by the Board

Amid complaints by students that they have suffered due to “faults” in the evaluation process, CBSE had previously set up a committee to study loopholes in the evaluation procedure, while the first committee enquired into the systematic dsicrepancies the other one suggested improvements.
