Ahead of Nitish Kumar taking oath as Chief Minister of Bihar, a power-sharing pact has been reached upon by the NDA, according to News18.
The BJP is set to get 17 ministerial berths and the post of the Speaker which is expected to go to senior leader Prem Kumar. Meanwhile, the JDU will get 15 berth, including the post of CM. The LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM (Secular), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) will be assigned two, one, and one ministerial slots, respectively.
Meanwhile, a JD(U) insider told PTI that the party was seeking a stronger presence in the new cabinet. “We had only 12 ministers last time. With our numbers up sharply, we expect more representation," said the JD(U) member.
According to News18, BJP’s Ramkripal Yadav and Shreyasi Singh have received the call to join the cabinet. While Yadav has been elected MLA from Danapur, Patna, after defeating RJD’s sitting MLA Ritesh Lal Yadav, Singh is the MLA from Jamui. Also, BJP’s Rama Nishad, who became an MLA for the first time, is expected to get a birth. Nishad won the election from Aurai for the first time.
Those from the JD(U) who may join the cabinet include Lacy Singh, Shravan Kumar, Vijay Chaudhary, Vijendra Yadav, and Madan Sahni.

The swearing-in ceremony will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J P Nadda and several other top leaders of NDA. The event will also be attended by chief ministers of several NDA ruled states.
The News18 report stated that all partners in the alliance are expected to be accommodated in proportion to the number of seats they have won.
The Bihar assembly elections was won by the NDA by a sweeping majority of 202 seats. The Opposition of Mahagathbandhan led by Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tejashwi of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) received a massive drubbing. The RJD only won 25 of the 143 seats it contested. On the other hand, the Jan Suraj Party of Prashant Kishor failed to open its account.
