WPL Auction 2024: Australia's Annabel Sutherland emerged as the most expensive buy in the auction, after she was brought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 2 crore. India's Kashvee Gautam was the most expensive Indian buy, brought for Rs 2 crore by Gujarat Giants.

Annabel Sutherland, Phoebe Litchfield and Shabnim Ismail were sold for sums above Rs 1 crore at the WPL Auction 2024 on Saturday.

The Women's Premier League (WPL) auction 2024 was held in Mumbai on Saturday and saw leading Indian and international names go under the hammer as teams looked to strengthen their squads before the start of the new season next year.

Australia's Annabel Sutherland emerged as the most expensive buy in the auction, after she was brought by Delhi Capitals for Rs two crore.  Fellow Australian Phoebe Litchfield was purchased by Gujarat Giants for Rs one crore.

Retired South African pacer Shabnim Ismail was brought for a sum of Rs 1.2 crore by reigning champions Mumbai Indians.

20-year-old right-arm seamer from Punjab Kashvee Gautam also attracted a bidding war and was eventually sold to the Giants for Rs 2 crore while Karnataka batter Vrinda Dinesh was bought by the UP Warriorz for a sum of Rs 1.3 crore. The former emerged as the most expensive Indian buy at the auction.
