Users across India and the United States reported widespread issues with YouTube and Google Search, triggering a spike in online searches asking whether Google’s services were down and when they would be restored.
The scale of complaints suggested a broad outage rather than isolated technical glitches, with users flagging slow loading, repeated buffering and failed connections across platforms.
What users reported
According to outage-tracking platform Downdetector, complaints rose sharply within hours. Reports increased from about 3,500 initially to more than 11,000, indicating a rapidly spreading service disruption.
Globally, around 73 percent of users reported website-related issues, 18 percent cited video streaming problems and 9 percent flagged app-related errors. Users said YouTube videos were taking unusually long to load, buffering repeatedly or failing to play altogether. Others reported being unable to access the YouTube website or mobile app.
India and US among worst affected
India saw a significant volume of complaints, with roughly 3,300 reports logged on Downdetector. Of these, 53 percent cited server connection issues, 34 percent reported website problems and 13 percent flagged video streaming disruptions.
Users in the United States also reported problems, particularly with YouTube TV, where live streams failed to load. Google Search disruptions were reported alongside, with users saying search results were slow or inaccessible.
Services impacted and what’s next
Downdetector data showed complaints spanning YouTube, Google Search and YouTube TV, pointing to issues across multiple Google-owned services rather than a single product failure.
As of the latest updates, Google has not issued an official statement confirming the outage, its cause or an estimated timeline for full service restoration. The absence of a response has added to user frustration as complaints continue to surface across regions.
