Mindteck Unveils Smart Parking Solutions at Smart City Workshop

Mindteck (India) Limited (BSE: MINDTECK), a global technology company, was among 20 technology companies invited to make presentations on Smart City related ICT solutions at the Smart Solutions for Service Delivery in Cities workshop held in Chennai on 8th October.  The event was jointly organized by the government of Tamil Nadu and Nasscom, and was sponsored by Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation.  Attendees included senior Tamil Nadu Government designates from shortlisted smart cities, including principal secretaries, municipal commissioners, officials of urban local bodies, and senior government officials.
 
Dr. K V Krishnan, VP Delivery, Mindteck, presented an overview of the company’s smart city engagements and also shared a demo on its Smart Parking Solution—a robust, reliable and cost-effective end-to-end solution for Car Parking Occupancy Detection and Management. The solution, which uses field-mounted Wi-Fi IP-based cameras for both outdoor and indoor parking, was well-received by infrastructure consultants, private companies and other major government agencies.

• An Intelligent Lighting Solution for a UK-based utility company that has announced record reductions in energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Mindteck developed the complete hardware and software for the system. Fifteen months into the project, energy consumption has been cut by 2.5 million kWh. Prior to installation of energy efficient lanterns, the street lighting was consuming around 50m kWh of energy a year. This will be successfully reduced to 34m kWh this year.
