Mining giant Vedanta said it is keeping a high watch on developments concerning the rise in COVID cases across India and keeping its employees abreast with relevant information.
“Health and safety of our employees and community around our operations are of utmost importance to us and Vedanta is keeping high preparedness to deal with any evolving situation,” Madhu Srivastava, CHRO of Vedanta told Moneycontrol.
At present, she said the company is keeping a high watch on developments and the government advisory, and releasing guidelines to the employees on the same basis.
“Doctors and medical institutes at Vedanta are issuing an advisory to all our employees and business partners on the do’s and don'ts and the precautionary measures to be undertaken in case of any symptoms,” Srivastava added.

In response to the unexpected spike in coronavirus infections throughout the nation, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi has released guidelines for Covid-19 suspected or positive cases that would be reported to hospitals.
India recorded 529 fresh COVID-19 cases in a single day, while the country's active infection count stood at 4,093, the health ministry said on December 27. Three new fatalities, two from Karnataka and one from Gujarat, were reported in 24 hours, according to the ministry's data updated at 8 am.
One of the largest providers of security solutions and facility management services firm, SIS Group said while there have been no immediate additional demands from the clients for security personnel or facility managers in the light of COVID-19 cases, it remains vigilant and equipped to handle any critical situations.
“Together with our clients spanning sectors such as healthcare, education, manufacturing, residential, ITES, retail, pharma, data centres, and others, we are implementing basic precautionary measures. These include wearing masks and regular disinfection, underscoring our dedication to fostering a safe work environment,” said Dhiraj Singh, CEO of SIS Group.

Meanwhile, information technology (IT) major Wipro earlier said it has adopted a flexible workplace approach, to "prioritise the well-being of its employees while aligning to the client’s needs and ensuring the talent’s professional growth".
“Since November, fully vaccinated employees have been returning to work, three days a week. We continue to adhere strictly to local directives and take necessary precautions to make sure all safeguard measures are in place,” the company told Moneycontrol.
