Prefer Tata Power, NTPC: Gaurang Shah

Gaurang Shah of Geojit Financial Services told CNBC-TV18, "I would prefer Tata Power or NTPC. I know this has been an outperformer and possibly, with the kind of issues that are there on Tata Power's balance sheet as far as the Mundra Ultra Mega Power Project is concerned. There looks to be a resolution in the near future and of course, the defence foray. So both Tata Power or else NTPC from a long-term point of view would be a good choice."

At 15:10 hrs Torrent Power was quoting at Rs 269.50, up Rs 6.95, or 2.65 percent.
