Deven Choksey, MD of KR Choksey Shares told CNBC-TV18, "Autos would be in the preference for sure and you would have strong arguments for the auto stocks going forward. For the commercial vehicle space in the domestic market the argument would be the lifting of the ban on the mining sector would possibly make further amount of offtake of commercial vehicles.”
“Along with that if interest rates starts tapering down going forward then in such situations again the demand pickup in the commercial vehicle segment would be on the higher side,” he added.
“On the passenger vehicle segment probably Maruti Suzuki India is the best choice that one could talk about because even in a worst environment like this we still had a good amount of rural demand and if the urban demand starts picking up in such situations they may once again have a high growth number. So within auto space, I think the choices would be selective but at the same time likes of Maruti, Tata Motors and Bajaj Auto would be the preference in our portfolio.”
