Lupin shares lost 2.8 percent intraday Friday after sources told CNBC-TV18 that the US health regulator will begin inspection of company's Pithampur (in Madhya Pradesh) unit 1 from Monday, July 24.
Company's unit 2 & 3 at Pithampur was inspected by US Food and Drug Administration earlier this year.
Unit 2 was inspected by the regulator from May 8-19 and issued 6 observations while unit 3 was inspected from June 12-16 and received 5 observations.
It is learnt that around 40-50 percent of pending ANDAs have been filed from Goa plant.
At 15:03 hours IST, the stock price was quoting at Rs 1,140.00, down Rs 26.00, or 2.23 percent on the BSE.
