Arindam Ghosh, MD & CEO of Blackridge Capital Advisors told CNBC-TV18, "Banks should be part of the portfolio at any given point in time. Of course within that it is private sector banks that one needs to stay invested over the long-term."

He further added, "We need to maintain our weight on the banking sector largely because the performance of the private sector banks has been quite strong. Whilst of course there have been issues around non-performing loans (NPL) and capital requirements, but it has largely been in the PSU space. So we continue to remain bullish on financials and we really do not correlate that to any short-term market movements."
