Ajay Bodke of Prabhudas Liladher told CNBC-TV18, "We are positive on the market, but we are cautiously optimistic because of the fiscal issues. Hence the orientation in the portfolio has been more towards having a balanced approach. And that is why HDFC Bank will continue to figure being the safest play in terms of asset quality, extremely strong net interest margins (NIMs) and strong current account savings account (CASA) ratios. HDFC Bank will be a part of core portfolio."

"Slightly on the riskier side, we prefer ICICI Bank over Axis Bank because we believe that it has better asset quality. In the midcap side, we have preferred ING Vysya Bank for the last two-three months and the stock has done quite well for us," he said.
