After anchoring an exit of his previous start-up Medlife, Ananth Narayanan is all set with his new venture Mensa Brands. Loosely based on the model of US's Thrasio, Mensa has already raised $50 million in a debt and equity round.

In an interaction with Moneycontrol, Narayanan talks about the decision to sell Medlife to larger rival Pharmeasy. He also talks about his new venture Mensa Brands and how different levels of innovation will be required to capture the India market, which has multiple e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra and Nykaa, to name just a few. So Ananth, in a career spanning over two decades, how does it feel now to build something completely from scratch? What are the risks involved there?
