Mumbai Airport to temporarily close runways on May 9 for monsoon maintenance

Runway 09-27, measuring 3448m x 60m, and runway 14-32, spanning 2871m x 45m, are vital components of Mumbai Airport's infrastructure.

Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), which manages Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), announced on April 15 plans for the temporary closure of the primary runway 09/27 and the secondary runway 14/32 on May 9. This closure is part of MIAL's monsoon contingency strategy.

A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued to alert aviation stakeholders about the temporary closure and its operational implications. All flight operations are expected to resume as usual post 5 pm on May 9, according to a press release.
