Mehli Mistry has stepped down from the Mumbai-based Small Animal Hospital Trust, which runs India’s largest tertiary care hospital for pets of the same name founded by former Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata, emails reviewed by Moneycontrol show.

The resignation from the hospital trust follows Mistry’s ouster in October from the Tata Group’s main trusts — Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the Sir Ratan Tata Trust — the two key entities that together hold a majority stake in Tata Sons.

His reappointment was opposed by trustees Noel Tata, Vijay Singh and Venkat Srinivasan, signalling the end of his tenure in the Trusts.
