The market on Friday failed to sustain the upmove and was back in the red territory at the close. Both the major indices Sensex and Nifty closed flat with a negative bias.

Banks continued to underperform. ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Steel & HDFC Bank were the top index losers, while HDFC, TCS, Infosys & L&T kept Nifty losses in check.
