Sticky day for midcap, RIL puts Nifty under pressure

It was a very tame kind of an expiry session. This morning, the hope would have been that the global markets are strengthening and would prop the Nifty up to 5900 kind of levels.

It was a very tame kind of an expiry session. This morning, the hope would have been that the global markets are strengthening and would prop the Nifty up to 5900 kind of levels. Early in the day, we got the sense that it may not to happen today. In the second half, the Nifty came under pressure because of some largecap names and finally closed the day just above 5780 mark, below 5800.

We had a terrific run in the March series. The whole April series has gone in digesting those gains. Finally, the Nifty and the Sensex are closing about 1% down a piece. Today
