Softness in European indices knocked the wind out of the markets in mid trade, but fresh buying emerged towards the fag end of the session. At closing bell, the Nifty stood at 5,360, with a 35 point gain, while the Sensex clocked a 102 point gain at 17,707.
Analysts have their hopes pinned on the forthcoming Budget and the ongoing elections. A strong budget session could see a rise in markets.
Now, we've reached a stage where valuations have still not become expensive, says Axis Direct
