The State Bank of India and Australian financial powerhouse Macquarie Group via its joint venture SBI Macquarie have floated a USD 1.2 billion venture fund dedicated to the infrastructure sector. The Planning Commission estimates that India will need close to USD 500 billion in infrastructure investments in the next five years.
