The markets kicked the week off on a muted note. The frontline indices traded in a narrow range, and finally closed absolutely flat. The Nifty ended the session just below 5,400, while the Sensex shut shop at 18,037, with a 29 point gain.

The markets kicked the week off on a muted note. The frontline indices traded in a narrow range, and finally closed absolutely flat.

The Nifty ended the session just below 5,400, while the Sensex shut shop at 18,037, with a 29 point gain.

The experts are divided on the future course of the markets.

Bearish views:

Abhijit Chakraborty, Senior VP - Institutional Equity, Fortune Financial sees the Nifty slipping to 5,150-5,200 and the Sensex falling to about 17,500.
