Inflation worrisome in EMs, oil price risky: Roubini

Burgeoning inflation has plagued the emerging markets including India while governments are trying to tame it by tightening of monetary policies. Global investors and experts are concerned about it too.

Burgeoning inflation has plagued the emerging markets including India while governments are trying to tame it by tightening of monetary policies. Global investors and experts are concerned about it too.

In an interview to CNBC-TV18, economist Nouriel Roubini said that though globally things are improving but rising inflation in EMs is worrying. He also said that usually, there is not one to one relationship between the stock market and the economy but this year some things are going well, the economy is improving, and EMs are doing well. However, Roubini feels that there is a significant number of downside risks coming from oil and commodity prices.
