The Union government on October 7 approved the appointment of 12 Executive Directors (EDs) positions in public sector banks.
Notably, in July 2023, the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) had recommended 16 candidates for the position of executive directors (EDs) in public sector banks (PSBs).
Sanjay Rudra, who is presently General Manager at Bank of Maharashtra, will take charge as Executive Director of Union Bank of India with effect from the date of assumption of office, according to a DOPT notification. Moneycontrol has access to the document.
However, Lal Singh, Chief General Manager, Union Bank of India has been appointed as Executive Director of Bank of Baroda for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of office, according to that notification.
"Provided that he shall be eligible for an extension of the term of office, after a review of his performance, till attaining the age of superannuation (i.e., 31.01.2027), or until further orders, whichever is earliest," said Department of Personal and Training's official notification.
Bibhu Prasad Mahapatra, Chief General Manager, Punjab
National Bank, has been appointed as Executive Director at PNB with effect from the date of assumption of office, up to the date of his attaining the age of superannuation.
Shiv Bajrang Singh, Chief General Manager of Bank of India has been appointed as Executive Director of Indian Bank for a period of three years.
While Ravi Mehra, General Manager, Punjab & Sind Bank has been appointed as Executive Director at the same bank for a period of three years. Rajiv Mishra Chief General Manager, Union Bank of India will take charge as Executive Director, Bank of India for a period of three years.
Bhavendra Kumar, Chief General Manager, Canara Bank has been appointed as Executive Director, Canara Bank for three years with effect from the date of assumption of office. Brajesh Kumar Singh, Chief General Manager, Bank of Baroda has been appointed as Executive Director, Indian Bank for a period of three years.
Rohit Rishi, Chief General Manager, Indian Bank will join
Bank of Maharashtra as Executive Director for a period of three years.
Mahendra Dohare, Chief General Manager, Punjab
National Bank will take charge as Executive Director, Central Bank of India for a period of three years. Dhanaraj T., Chief General Manager, Indian Bank has been appointed as Executive Director, Indian Overseas Bank for a period of three years. Vijaykumar Nivrutti Kamble, General Manager, Bank of
Maharashtra will join as Executive Director of the UCO Bank for a period of three years.
India currently has 12 public sector banks: Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, UCO Bank, and Union Bank of India.
