Reliance Retail has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Germany-based cosnova Beauty to introduce 'essence' to the Indian market, the company said in a press release on November 17.
Under the partnership, Reliance Retail will handle nationwide distribution of essence products through its online channels, retail stores and partner outlets. The companies have not shared commercial details or the launch timeline.
Reliance Retail will act as the official distributor for essence in India, making the brand available across its retail network. The partnership adds another international label to Reliance Retail’s beauty portfolio, which has expanded steadily over the past year.
Founded in 2002, essence sells a wide range of mass-market makeup products in about 90 countries. The company says more than 80 percent of its products are manufactured in Europe. Its lineup includes vegan items, marketed as cruelty-free and updated frequently, with a notable portion of the range refreshed twice a year.
