Commercial coal mining will help increase efficiency & productivity, says Piyush Goyal

The cabinet has approved auction of coal mines for private sector operators for commercial mining to help pump up the economy.

Piyush Goyal, Railway Minister addressed a press conference on key decisions taken by the cabinet. "Commercial coal mining will help increase efficiency and productivity," he said.

Reacting to the press conference, Ashok Khurana of Association of Power Producers, Anil Agarwal of Vedanta, Partha S Bhattacharyya, Former Chairman of Coal India, and Anil Razdan, Former Power Secretary of Government of India, shared their views on opening up coal mines for commercial mining by private companies.
