Petronet LNG's net profit for first quarter FY12 stood at Rs 257 crore against Rs 111 crore in the year ago period. Net sales surged 83% to Rs 4,623 crore from Rs 2,526 crore year-on-year.
A Balyan, chief executive officer and managing director, Petronet LNG in an interview withn CNBC-TV18 said, there has been steady growth in capacity utilisation transfer at Dahej plant. In terms of volume the company has done 133 trillion BTUs and these have led to boost in performance. He said, "Petronet's board has approved the expansion of Dahej terminal to create more storage and re-gasification capacities, which would perhaps take it to much more than 10 million tonne. We are targeting around 15 million tonne capacity in time to come."
