Adani Power reported net profit at Rs 174 crore versus Rs 98 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011. During the same period, its net sales were down Rs 856 crore as against Rs 201 crore the previous year.
In an exclusive interview with CNBC-TV 18's Gautam Broker and Reema Tendulkar, chief financial officer Prabal Banerji said the plant load factor (PLF) across all units was more than 91% in the previous quarter. He also added, the company is not solely dependent on Coal India for supply of coal reserves. Below is the verbatim transcript of his interview. Also watch the accompanying video. Q: Can you tell us the plant load factor (PLF) for this quarter in all your four operating units? What is the expectation going forward?
A: The plant load factor (PLF) for the last quarter was more than 91% for all the units. We hope to replicate the performance in forthcoming years as well. Q: Despite the ten days shut down of 660 megawatts to fix a temporary problem, you have managed a decent figure- do you hope to maintain these levels?
A: Absolutely. Today, 660 megawatt itself is running smoothly at more than 88-90% .We are not facing problems like the 330s. Q: Can you give us a break up of your realizations? How much came from merchant realizations, and any kind of forward looking outlook that you are picking up now?
