Adani Power's net profit for the third quarter of fiscal year 2010 jumped 49% to Rs 109 crore as compared to Rs 73 crore in Q3FY09 and up from Rs 126 crore in Q2FY10. Net sales too rose 115% to Rs 503 crore from Rs 234 crore (YoY) and Rs 395 crore (QoQ).
While addressing a press conference, chief financial officer Prabal Banerji said the plant load factor (PLF) grew from 82% to 85% in the quarter on QoQ basis. He said that the results were not comparable on YoY basis on account of significant capacity expansions. "Supercritical unit of 660 megawatt was commissioned in Q3," he stated adding that the company paid an additional depreciation of 21% during the quarter.
