Mining major Vedanta Ltd on March 28 informed the stock exchanges that its acting chief financial officer Ajay Goel has submitted his resignation and will step down from the post on April 9.
The board of directors has accepted Goel's resignation and lauded his efforts as the company's acting CFO and key managerial personnel.
The board has "taken note of the resignation of Ajay Goel from the post of acting chief financial officer (CFO) and key managerial personnel (KMP) of the company effective from close of business hours on April 09, 2023", the regulatory filing noted.
Goel, who was associated with Vedanta since March 2021, has resigned "to pursue a career outside of the group", it added.
"The company and board placed on record its appreciation for the commitment and contribution made by him during his tenure and wish him the very best for his future endeavours," Vedanta stated.
The company added that it will announce the details of Goel's successor in "due course".
Vedanta's board, in the meeting held earlier in the day, also gave its nod to the release of a fifth interim dividend for the fiscal year 2022-23 of Rs 20.50 per share, amounting to a total of Rs 7,621 crore. The record date for the purpose of payment of the dividend is April 7.
The shares of Vedanta, in the trading session on March 28, settled at Rs 274 at the stock market, which was around 1.50 percent higher than the previous day's close.
