The net mobile data customer base has risen to 41.3 million. The data average revenue per user (ARPU) of 3G customer stood at Rs 202. During the quarter under review, Idea spent Rs 1,726.6 crore on capital expenditure adding 9,947 sites.
On the capex front, chief financial officer Akshaya Moondra said it has already invested Rs 3,069 crore, a majority of which on the spectrum won earlier, in the first half of the fiscal and said it will be ending the year with a capex of Rs 6,500 crore, which is at the higher end of its guidance given earlier. The gross debt of the company stood at Rs 23,539 crore as of end September. The 4G service will be launched in ten circles and will cover 750 cities and towns, Kapania said, adding this includes six circles where Idea is among the top two operators.
Kapania said after dropping for many quarters, there seems to be some stability in the voice charges now but it is the data charges where the most competition is where prices are falling.
