Need to focus on increasing exports: NRN Narayana Murthy

Infosys co-founder NRN Narayana Murthy says while China is doing all it can to boost exports by devaluing its currency (yuan) further, India should pull up its own socks and concentrate on its export target.

He says China wants to become even more competitive in the global market and therefore devaluation will help.

"China is much larger than India in terms of exports and hence some dip or rise in China's fortunes in terms of exports should not matter to us. We should focus on what it is that we should do to increase our exports, so that we can create a positive balance of trade," he says.
