Manish Tandon quits Infy; 2nd high-profile exit in 10 days

The company’s another executive VP, Anup Uppadhayay, who was heading the strategic global sourcing, had exited from the company recently. Another recent exit from the company was of Vasudev Nayak, who put in his papers this month.

Moneycontrol BureauIndia’s IT giant Infosys has witnessed another high-level exit. CNBC-TV18 learns its Executive Vice President and Head of Healthcare, Insurance and Life Sciences and Head of High Tech Manish Tandon has quit the company after 20 years. This is the second high profile exit from the IT giant in the last 10 days. The company’s another Executive VP, Anup Uppadhayay, who was heading the strategic global sourcing, had exited the company recently. Another exit from the company was of Vasudev Nayak, who put in his papers this month. Tandon’s exit will be seventh major exit from the Bangalore-based software company since Vishal Sikka took over the company reins in June 2014.Infosys, in its management rejig, has elevated Rajesh Krishnamurthy, executive VP and Head of energy and Utilities, and Telecommunications as the President. Krishnamurthy has recently replaced Sanjay Purohit as Head of Consulting. The company, which reported less-than-expected first quarter results and which lowered its FY17 guidance, has rejigged its management with an aim to focus on big deals and sustain growth. The Times of India, in an article, mentions that the company’s CEO Vishal Sikka, in a letter to the employees, had expressed disappointment over the first quarter numbers and had mentioned that management re-shuffle is aimed at restoring growth. Besides Krishnamurthy, media reports also mention that post Tandon's exit, the lifesciences, insurance and healthcare business will be taken over by Mohit Joshi, who is the Pesident and Head of Financial Servcies. Meanwhile, Sandeep Dadlani, President and Global Head of retail CPG (consumer packaged goods) and Manufacturing will take over the hi-tech business. Infosys has also appointed Navin Budgiraja, Senior Vice President and Head of Architecture and Technology as its Education and Research head.
