India may get its first auto-shredding center early next year. This new integrated automotive recycling unit will be a joint venture between MSTC and Mahindra Intertrade, and CNBC-TV18's Shweta Kothari reports that it will be located either in Gujarat or in Maharashtra.This is more than a graveyard for automobiles. It's where vehicles come to be reincarnated, either as parts, or as scrap metal. India will soon get a facility just like this one by April 2017. A joint venture between Metal Scrap Trading Corporation and Mahindra Intertrade, this facility is expected to cost over Rs 120 crore and will boast a capacity of over 1 lakh tonnes.
