The Thermal Powertech Corporation of India, a joint venture between Gayatri Energy and Sembcorp, has commenced operations of its first 660 megawatt power project.
The Nellore, Andhra Pradesh-based USD 1.5 billion project, which will have a total installed capacity of 1,320 megawatt, is Gayatri's first venture in the power space. The company has signed power purchase agreements with distribution companies in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
To elabourate upon the JV's plans going forward, Gayatri Projects MD TV Sandeep Reddy spoke to CNBC-TV18.
