Deal with pvt discom to raise utilisation capacity to 75%: CESC

CESC, the integrated power utility company from RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, said it is in talks to sign a power purchase agreement for a 150 MW plant.

Speaking to CNBC-TV18, Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman of CESC confirmed that the company is close to signing a deal for 150 MW with a private distribution company. It will take the company’s capacity utilisation to 75 percent in the unit, he said.

With the signing of the Chandrapur unit and the first PPA with the Greater Noida Power Company and Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGENCO), losses will come down by Rs 400 crore, he said.
