As per the data released by Cement Manufacturers Association, the Indian cement industry which is struggling with oversupply, witnessed a fall in capacity utilisation to a 13-year low of 83.9% for 2010-11, reports Business Standard.
The report says that more glut is felt in the western and southern regions than the north, central and east (NCE). It also mentions that the capacity utilisation in the west and south decreased to 75% in 2010-11, as compared to 92% in 2008-09.
