Sugar for your cup of chai may cost 10% more by mid-April

Narendra Murkumbi, MD, Shree Renuka Sugars told CNBC-TV18 that global sugar prices will be in the range of 22 and 30 cents for the next three-six months. “We are right now almost in the middle of that range at around 27 cents.”

Commodity prices across the globe have been facing a backlash due to the Japanese disasters and the chaotic situation arising in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region. Narendra Murkumbi, MD, Shree Renuka Sugars told CNBC-TV18 that global sugar prices will be in the range of 22 and 30 cents for the next three-six months.
