The Delhi high court on Thursday deferred a hearing for bail applications of five business executives charged by the CBI in telecom licensing scandal to April 26. No interim relief was granted to the accused, despite some strong arguments put up by defense counsel including Soli Sorabjee himself, who appeared for reliance ADA group president Gautam Doshi. Other lawyers including KTS Tulsi and Kewal Krishen Kaul also pleaded for bail for their clients on the grounds that personal liberty cannot to be taken away merely on apprehensions.
So even as the fate of these executives will be decided on Thursday afternoon, the second CBI chargesheet is set to be filed by the CBI a day earlier.
