The 28 billion euro Bosch Automotive Group is investing heavily on technology that will help reduce fuel costs and enhance safety. At Bosch's Boxberg proving ground, 330 journalists from 35 countries were shown next generation technologies that would cut fuel consumption by 30%.

Bohr said, "The biggest barrier currently which has to do with electrification is the cost. We are working in the area of standardisation."
On safety, Bosch is working on low cost innovations. The antilock braking system (ABS) and electronic stability programme are specially being developed for countries like India. Bosch hopes that the cheaper safety systems will lead to better adoption by Indian OEMs.

Bosch has developed an anti braking system for smaller bikes starting from 125cc engines and is in talks with Bajaj Auto and Honda to offer it in their bikes in India.
