DIPP bats for easing FDI norms in aviation

CNBC-TV18's Rituparno Bhuyan reports that the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has written to the aviation ministry to allow foreign airlines to pick up equity stake in domestic airlines.

The issue of allowing foreign airlines to pick up stake in domestic carriers has for long being put on the backburner. While many private airlines are gasping for capital, it now seems that the industry department may become the saviour for the sector. CNBC-TV18
